Welcome to another years membership of Ely Table Tennis Club. Whether you are an existing member, or new to the club at either of our practice venues, I will try to keep you up to date with Club news every now and then.
However, if you do have social media accounts then please follow us and get all the latest news. Clive Hodgson is doing a great job to promote the club and we would really appreciate your help in interacting and spreading the word to family and friends!
You can find the club on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/elytabletennis
Or on Twitter - we can be followed @ElyTableTennis
There is exciting news coming soon about further club promotions. Watch this space!
ETTC came runner up in a recent Life Fitness Competition and although we didn’t win the top prize of a new table tennis table, we did receive some fitness goodies which I will bring along tomorrow night to hand out to anyone who wants one.
All membership and signed code of conduct forms should be submitted to me no later than the end of this week please. See attached documents if you have mislaid them. Payment can be made by cheque, BACS or cash. Please also ensure you are signed up as a member of Table Tennis England (see membership form for details).
The Sport England grant and subsidised funding for the hall hire comes to an end on the 28th August and therefore the new practice fees at Witchford will apply from Monday 3rd September. First taster session is free. Adults £4.00. Juniors (18 and under) £2.00. This brings us into line with the current fees at the Littleport sessions.
There will be NO practice on Monday 27th August at Witchford because of the Bank Holiday. However, you can still visit Littleport Leisure Centre on a Thursday evening 7 – 9pm.
Saturday 22nd September - I am now asking for entries to the ETTC Summer Tournament. Please email me before 9th September if you want to enter. This is open to all members. Due to the restricted size of the facilities at Prickwillow Village Hall, we can only accept 18 entries so it will be on a first come first serve basis. There will be handicapped singles and doubles plus the usual buffet lunch provided and trophies for the winners. Entry £5 per person on the day. Practice starts at 8.30am, matches start at 9am. We hope to finish by 4pm but it often runs on later! Spectators welcome too.
The deadline for entry to one of our six league teams is coming up on the 4th September. If you haven’t already signed up and want to play competitively for the club in either the Ely or Cambs League (or both) then please let me know asap. Matches usually start third week of September and finish in April.
Bats – we have some really great bats for sale at a fraction of the price you can get them online so if you need a new bat then let myself or Ian know as we have a stock of them at both venues. £40.00.
